Who is Restore Fannie Mae?
We are taxpayers, families, students, shareholders, and people — just like you! Moreover, we are a grassroots, non-partisan movement demanding an end to the unconstitutional conservatorship of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac by the US government.

Did Restore Fannie Mae originate from the Tea Party, Occupy Wall Street or some other group?
No. We originated through shareholders and citizens effected by the subprime mortgage crisis, which recognize a set of convoluted circumstances, fueled by under-regulated investment banks, mortgage originators and overzealous politicians, which resulted in the conservatorship of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

What are you trying to accomplish?
Repay taxpayers, rebuild capital, restore dividend payments, release them from conservatorship, return them back to the shareholders, and protect them from fraud and manipulation.

How are you going to do this?
Restore Fannie Mae facilitates local non-violent protests around the country. The purpose of the rallies is to spread awareness of and spur political action against unconstitutional “takings” by the U.S. government, and request appropriate regulatory actions to prevent a future financial crisis.

How do we know that donations are being used properly?
We will try to keep this FAQ updated with donation spending, but here is a current Facebook spending and traffic report processed today. As you can see, the funds have all been used up from the IndieGoGo page so far. The cost for hosting the NationBuilder site is $60 per month.
